"Hope and Sharing School"

A two room school has been set up in the Nyumanzi refugee camp by Atem Miot, who was a Canberra resident before December 2013. In addition, some children are taught "under the trees" because the school has become very popular. About six adult volunteers are doing the teaching.

Infants are taught in the mornings and adults in the afternoon.

The school uniforms are yellow and blue, as shown in the photos below. More uniforms will be provided.

Family reunion

Two Canberra friends undertook to help reunite a mother in Kenya, accompanied by her four children, and the five children of her deceased sister, with her brother in Nyumanzi camp in Uganda. This required thousands of kilometres of travel by road, over about a ten day period. We accomplished this on 29 September, 2015. We await photographs!
